Confessions: my experience

Hey guys!

Today I don’t really have anything exciting to tell you about yesterday because I had lesson both in the morning and in the afternoon, so I’m gonna give you a little insight about myself!

Expectations

We all have expectations when we leave for trips and such, so before leaving for Miami I obviously had an idea of what my experience was gonna be like. I though that being an introvert person I’d probably stick around only with the people I already knew. But I soon realized that the idea I had was wrong. In the first two days I had already met very friendly and nice people that I’m planning on getting to know better in the days we have left, because I believe that they could turn out to be great friendships!

“Would you like to know your future? If your answer is yes, think again. Not knowing is the greatest life motivator. So enjoy, endure, survive each moment as it comes to you in its proper sequence — a surprise.”

My predictions on the next weeks

Now, after the first few days, I’m thinking about what the rest of this experience will be like. I can’t wait to discover other parts of this city and to meet new amazing people here. Also, we’re gonna celebrate my friend’s 18th birthday at the boat party tonight, so I’m very excited to see how that goes… I’m sure we’re gonna have fun!!

Things that surprised me

I have been to America for the first time in 2015 when I went to New York, so I had already noticed some of the differences when compared to Italy, but there are some things that surprised me coming here… For example, I didn’t remember that Americans loved air conditioning so much. They absolutely overuse it and I’m not used to it, so I’m always freezing everywhere I go! Also, I’ve noticed that people here are much more chill and relaxed, whereas Italians often strike as cold and obnoxious.

But these are just some of the things that come to my mind, I’ll definitely let you know more in the next posts, as I discover more about this country and its people!

I’ll be back soon, Elisa 🙂
